Unproven or unlikely factors

From time to time research may focus on factors that appear to link to an increase or decrease in breast cancer risk. These factors may also be highlighted in media coverage or may be commonly believed to be associated with risk of breast cancer.

On this page you can view factors which have been the subject of studies where the findings have either been inconclusive, or no association with risk has been shown. This may be due to inconsistencies in the studies, or insufficient or poor quality evidence.
